TIMES Staff Report
-
Girls looking for adventure and great fun this summer should sign up now for Girl Scout day camp from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 10-14 at Kamp Kiwanis on Ridge Road in Lexington. Space is limited at the camp, which is presented by the Girl Scouts, Tarheel Triad Council.
The camp is open to all girls ages 5-17, whether members of the Girl Scouts or not. Registration deadline is June 10. At camp, girls will enjoy making arts and crafts, singing songs, playing games, practicing outdoor skills and swimming.
Activities will help Girl Scouts complete Girl Scout Try-Its and Badges.
Girls will stay late Thursday evening for a cookout and an extra swim session. Campers will be grouped according to grade: those who have completed kindergarten through grade 2, grades 3-5, and grades 6 and up.
Camp director is Tina Everhart.
The fee for the week of adventure is $40 for Girl Scouts; $65, others. A $5 discount per person applies for each additional sister if registrations are submitted in the same envelope.
