-
Fifteen young women from Davidson, Guilford, and Alamance Counties will compete Saturday for the privilege of representing the City of Thomasville in the 2006 Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant.
The 2006 Miss Thomasville Pageant will celebrate its 69th anniversary through song and dance with the theme “Dreamgirls.”
The pageant, which will take place Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at T. Austin Finch Auditorium, will feature talent from across the state participating in a variety of production numbers leading up to the coronation of Miss Thomasville 2006.
The reigning Miss Thomasville, Dorothy Cowan, will share the stage with not only 15 contestants, but with a variety of singers and The Miss Thomasville Dancers from Bobbi’s School of Dance.
This year’s contestants are competing for a $3,000 cash scholarship; a $1,500 ward-robe allowance, and the opportunity to represent Tho-masville at the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant in June.
A number of other scholarships will be awarded to other finalist and contestants making the pageant’s total scholarship offering close to $6,000.
