LEXINGTON —Helen Louise Anderson, 95, a resident of Hillcrest Circle, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in High Point Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church and other times at the home. Charles Cranford THOMASVILLE —Mr. Charles Ray Cranford, 64, a resident of Thomasville, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Hospice Home of High Point. Charles, or “Hoot” as he was known by his family and friends, was born Dec. 10, 1943 in Thomasville, a son of Jesse Cranford and Thelma Godfrey Cranford. He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1962 where he earned All-American honors in football and went on to receive a degree in Accounting and Business Administration from East Carolina University. His professional career included 26 years with Clarendon Industries and 15 years at Mickey Truck Bodies of High Point. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville, where he was a member of the R. L. Pope Bible Class. He was also a former member and past president of the Thomasville Jaycees. On Aug. 27, 1966, he was married to Miss Virginia “Ginger” Evans who survives of the home. Also surviving are a daughter, Ms. Jennifer Cranford Craddock and granddaughters, Camille and Claire Craddock, all of Thomasville; a son, John Charles Cranford of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Shelby Hampton of Thomasville; and a brother, Darold Cranford and his wife, Rhonda, of Edgewood, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cranford of Thomasville. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church by Dr. Ivan H. M. Peden and the Rev. Peggy A. Finch. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until the hour of service. The family will receive friends at the Christian Enrichment Center of Memorial United Methodist Church Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and other times at the residence. Perry Floyd GREENSBORO — Mr. Perry Jasper Floyd Jr, 62, a resident of 4331 Hewitt St., died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his home. He was born in Davidson County on Jan. 22, 1946, to Perry Jasper and Ninevah Goad Floyd. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and an employee in the meat department at Costco. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at The Veterans National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. with a military chaplain officiating. Anne Greene SALISBURY — Mrs. Ann Means Hall Greene, 82, formerly of Forest Dr., Thomasville, died Wednesday evening, June 4, 2008 at the Genesis - Salisbury Center. She was born on April 16, 1926 in Banks County, Ga. to Hubert Means and Emma Caudell Means. She retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Bradford Hall on Aug. 14, 1956, and Robert W. Greene on July 20, 2003; sister, Reba Means McInerny; and a brother, Ralph Means. Surviving are her sons, Daniel B. Hall and his wife, Carol, of Hickory, Richard J. Hall of Thomasville and Michael A. Greene and wife, Angie, of Salisbury; daughters, Bonnie Hall Rowland and husband, Julia,n of Lexington and Jill Greene Hall and husband, Jonathan, of Cary; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Eric Disher officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Charles Hardister DENTON — Charles Stanley Hardister, 82, of Burney Mill Road in Troy, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mr. Hardister was born on March 14, 1926, in Randolph County to James Allen and Bertha Harvell Hardister. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Eleazer United Methodist Church. He was the retired owner and operator of Hardister & Son Builders, which he started in 1960. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Eleazer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Carter and the Rev. Jeff Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence on Burney Mill Road. Floyd Jarvis LEXINGTON — Floyd Jackson Jarvis, 85, of Little Rock Avenue in Lexington, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Lexington Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. Mr. Jarvis was born on Feb. 3, 1923, in Cooleemee, N.C. to Robert Lee Jarvis and Carrie Davis Jarvis. He was retired from Jarvis Enterprise and was employed at Dixie Furniture in Lexington for many years. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Freedom Baptist Church with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Younts was born in Davidson County on May 4, 1923, to Walter Grant Younts and Mary Lohr Younts. He retired from Sealy of the Carolinas. He was also a veteran of World War II. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Beck’s Reformed Church with the Rev. Gerald M. Sanders officiating. Burial followed in Beck’s Reformed Church Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3074. The family will receive friends at the residence.
