THOMASVILLE — Rachel Marie Blair Harrington, 82, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Hospice at High Point, surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel was born on Jan. 9, 1926, in Guilford County to Rondal and Pansy Blair. She was an employee for Mr. Daniel B. Ballow for 42 years, starting her career at Cut Rate Furniture in Thomasville.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Family Funeral Care at 11 a.m. today. Graveside service will follow at Lebanon United Methodist in High Point.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Viola Varner
LEXINGTON — Mrs. Viola Hughes Varner, 88, a resident of John Black Road, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, in the Hospice Home of High Point.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1920, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Fuller Hughes and Lula Jane Starbuck Hughes. She was a homemaker and a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and the Emma Lambeth Sunday School Class.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Chris Sheffield and the Rev. Ray Swaney officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
