THOMASVILLE — Mr. Kenneth Allen Clark Sr., 22, a resident of 470 Etta Lane, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born on July 20, 1985, in Guilford County to Larry Ray Clark and Tammy Marie Schneider Clark. He was a warehouse supervisor with Sun Delivery.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Tommy Short officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of his aunts, Susan Barr, 827 Hasty Hill Road, Thomasville.

Gary B. Farabee
LEXINGTON — Gary Brent Farabee, 67, of S. N.C. Highway 150, died Monday, May 5, 2008, in High Point Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Farabee was born on March 11, 1941, in Guilford County to Gilmer Blackburn Farabee and Mary Inez Ridge Farabee. He graduated from West Davidson High School and attended Wingate College. He was employed with Carolina Concrete for more than 25 years. He was also an avid musician and U.S. Air Force veteran.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Psalm 91 with the Rev. Max Shoaf and the Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family at the home at 405 S. N.C. Highway 150 in Lexington.

Ronnie Fields
ASHEBORO — Mr. Ronnie Ross Fields, 41, of 702 Foxworth Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Moses Cone Hospital.
He was born on March 14, 1967 in Forsyth County, a son of Roger Lee Fields and Janice Marie Turner Fields. Mr. Fields was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by a sister, Vickie Lynn Key.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating. Interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville today from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of the sister, Melissa Marie Kleineick, at 1278 Old Linwood Road in Lexington.

Ellen “Granny” Garren
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Ellen “Granny” Thorton Ward Garren, 82, a resident of 111 Lines St., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born on July 7, 1925, in Snowville, Va. to Hampton Covern Thornton and Ocie Redpath Thorton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Erby and Billy Ward.
Surviving are her son, Benny Ward and his wife, Sarah, of Archdale; daughters, Carlene Ward Mason and her husband, David, of Winston-Salem, Maryanne Ward Miller and Betty Jane Ward, both of Thomasville; brother, Archie Thornton of Dublin, Va.; sister Belva Dusek and her husband, Raymond, of Shawsville, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 12 p.m. at First Assembly of God with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.

Charles Gallimore
THOMASVILLE — Charles Colon Gallimore, 83, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Denton to Lonnie C. and Josie Carriker Gallimore. He was retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries after 30 years of service.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Blakley officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.

Blanche “Ginny” Griffin
LEXINGTON — Mrs. Blanche Virginia Garner Griffin, 81, of Numa Byerly Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in the Hospice Home at High Point.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Randolph County on Jan. 23, 1927, to the late Julius Cicero Garner and Edith Daphne Ruth Garner. She was a retired employee of Waffle House and attended Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Messer officiating. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Frank Hartley
LEXINGTON — Franlin Gilbert “Frank” Hartley, 58, of Rogers Road, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home.
Frank was born in Davidson County on July 12, 1949, to Olin Franklin Hartley and Lucille Adams Hartley. He was an employee of PPG as long as health permitted and was an avid Ham Radio Operator. He attended Amazing Grace Baptist Church.,
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the Southside Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Elwood Goodman and the Rev. Jerry Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Anna Hunt
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Mrs. Anna Mae Hunt, 84, died April 18, 2008, in Ditmas Park Care Center, following lengthy illness.
Mrs. Hunt was born on May 6, 1923, in Newport News, Va. In 1951, she was married to the Rev. Otha L. Hunt who preceded her in death in December 2005.
Before moving to New York in 2006, Mrs. Hunt was a resident of Thomasville from 1986 until 2006, where she and her husband served as Pastor and First Lady for 16 years at Bethel Tabernacle Holiness Church on Forsyth Street.
Surviving are children Marc Anthony Hunt of Brooklyn, N.Y., Durain La Faith Hines and husband, James, of Winston Salem, and Roberta Anna Hunt of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Monday at 5 p.m. at S.E. Thomas Funeral Service.

Rev. Robert Moore
LEXINGTON — “ A faithful servant to the Lord,” Rev. Robert Lee Moore, 83, went to be with the Lord and many of his loved ones on Tuesday evening, May 6, 2008, at his home.
He was born in Stokes County on Oct. 22, 1924 to George and Myrtle Lawson Moore, he had made this area his home for his entire life. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Rev. Moore received Christ as his Savior on Feb. 6, 1953 and the Rev. Clarence Jenkins served as his first pastor. He answered God’s call to the ministry in 1954, while serving under the Rev. Harold B. Sitler and thus began a long evangelistic career. Beginning with a tent ministry where he served for over two years, he pastored at nine churches and served as supply pastor at many more, most recently at Whispering Hope Baptist Church in High Point. He wore out 18 Bibles during his ministry. Among his proudest accomplishments were his numerous radio ministries which extended throughout Winston-Salem, King, High Point, Thomasville and Lexington. At his passing, he also provided an Internet Ministry program in King. Rev. Moore also provided Prison, Hospital and Nursing Home Ministries in his service to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Florene Workman; and brothers, the Rev. Howard Moore, Roy Moore and Timmy Moore. On March 14, 1945 he married the former Frances Craver who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his daughters, Carolyn Hawkins and husband, Eddie, and Susan Thomas and husband, Danny, of High Point; Sons, Roger Moore, Jeff Moore and wife, Tenna, of Lexington and Greg Moore of Ulla; brothers, Joe Moore and wife, Sandra, Everett Moore and wife Doris, and William Moore and wife, Mozelle, all of Thomasville, Charles Moore and wife, Vickie, and June Moore and wife, Beverly, of Walkertown, Steve Moore and wife, Carol, of Winston-Salem, George Moore and wife, Judy, of King, and Johnny Moore and wife, Annette, of Kernersville; grandchildren, David, Terry, Derick, Clayton, Alisha, Alexandria, Mandy and Heath; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. at Hilltop Baptist Church with the Rev. W.A. Sewell, Jr., the Rev. David Hedrick, and the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church where Rev. Moore will lie in state until the funeral hour.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hilltop Baptist Church, 160 Gate Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360 in honor of “The Rescue Hour” in Rev. Moore’s name.

Fred Paul Newby
HIGH POINT — Mr. Fred Paul Newby, 86, of High Point died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Westchester Manor.
He was born on Oct. 29, 1921, in Davidson County, a son to the late John Newby and Mary Cecil Newby. He was the president and owner of Granville House, Inc. Until his health started to decline, Mr. Newby was a very active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He served as the church superintendent and chairman of the cemetery committee. He was preceded in death by two hours on Monday by his wife, Irene Nance Newby. He was also preceded in death by a son, Craig Newby.
Mr. Newby is survived by two children, Eric Newby and wife, Pam, and Renay Neby Lamp and husband, John, all of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Newby of Simpsonville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Kristi Foster of St. Louis, Kari Foster Allison and husband, Cory, of Winston-Salem and Brad Newby of High Point; three great-grandchildren,. Emma, Camille and Eva; and one sister, Betty Parker and her husband, John, of High Point.
Funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Newby will be held at 11 a.m. today at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the interment in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Building Fund or Cemetery Fund of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1049, Thomasville, N.C. 27361.

HIGH POINT — Irene Nance Newby, 86, of High Point died Monday, May 5, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1921, in Union County, S.C., a daughter of the late Melvin Nance and Ada Garrett Nance. She was a very active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church until her death. Mrs. Newby was preceded in death by a son, Craig Newby.

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Virginia Fouts Hughes Clarke Parker, 79, of Sunbridge of Lexington, formerly of Arthur Drive, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in the nursing home.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1929, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Wesley Fouts and Marguerite Eagle Fouts. She was retired from Brown Middle School and was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and other times at the home of the daughter, Linda Johnson, at 463 Central Heights in Lexington.

Howard Sellers
CLEMMONS, N.C. — Howard Terry Sellers, 70, of Spanish Oak Drive in Clemmons, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his home after a number of years of declining health.
Mr. Sellers was born in Greenville, S.C., to Howard Thurman and Edna Case Sellers on April 30, 1938. He was retired from Pilot freight carriers and was also owner and operator of Lynn’s Tobacco Shop in Welcome.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Ken Harris officiating.
A visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before the memorial service.

LEXINGTON — Jimmy Lee Yates, 68, of N.C. Highway 47, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Yates was born on May 31, 1939, in Davidson County, to Herman Yates and Mattie Campbell Yates. He was a retired brick mason with RY Masonry. He attended Lexington Community Church.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Reverends Eric Disher and Charles Dickens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday and other times at the home of Ronald and Cheri, 133 Joes Beach Boulavard in Lexington.
