Mrs. Mary Ellen Brown, 65, a resident of 6992 Gra-Lan Drive in Thomasville, passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 26, 2008, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Born in Gaffney, S.C. on Aug. 18, 1942, to Wilbert and Lennie Martin Hammett she had lived in this area for the past 43 years moving from Charlotte. She was a former 20 year employee of Alderman Studios, worked four years with PBM Graphics, and owned Mary Brown Graphics for 10 years before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville where she was in the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class, was past president of the Ladies Golf Association of Holly Ridge Golf Club, loved traveling, golf, and reading. Her primary interest was her family whom she loved very much and treasured the time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marjorie H. Padgett. On Sept. 22, 1961 she married Ralph O. Brown who survives of the home. Also surviving are her daughter, Anita Brown Elks and husband Dempsey of Chapel Hill, son, Greg Brown and wife Cathe of Alexandria, Va., sisters, Billie Welch and husband Hobert and Annie Ruppe and husband Marshall, all of Charlotte; brothers, Glenn Hammett and wife Lillie, Maynard Hammett and wife Madeline, and Robert Hammett and wife Brenda all of Gaffney, S.C. and Forrest Hammett and wife Katie of Piedmont, S.C.; and granddaughter, Christine Brown. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bynum Orr and the Rev. Jon Strother officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Carthage, N.C. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, where Mrs. Brown will remain until being placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Born Jan. 16, 1914, in Mercer County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Joshua and Alice Davis Head. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Chapel of Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Bryte Hogan Hopkins DENTON — Bryte Hogan Hopkins, 87, of Hopkins Drive in Denton, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Carolina House in Asheboro. Wilma Loden Wilma Jean (Carter) Loden, 62, of Thomasville, N.C., passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Britthaven Nursing Home in Thomasville. She was bron March 23, 1945, in Crab Orchard, Tenn., daughter of William and Ninne (Webb) Carter. She was a mill worker for a cotton company and of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by son, Jimmy Loden of Thomasville, N.C., son, Terry Loden of Trinity, N.C., son Mark A. Loden of Thomasville. an son Michael Loden of Thomasville; sister, Marie Sanders of Thomasville, sister Helen Cox of Lexington, N.C., sister Linda Carver of Thomasville, N.C., and sister Julie Simmons of Thomasville, N.C.; brother William Wesley Carter of Sophia, N.C., brother, Anthony George Carter of Denton, N.C., brother, Dallas Redwine of Thomasville, N.C., and brother Jerry Redwine of Thomasville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Delmer Gene Loden; daughter, Barbara Jean Loden; mother, Ninnie (Webb) Carter; father, William Carter; and brother, Otis Carter. Teresa Steele Wilson Mrs. Teresa Ellen Steele “Peaches” Wilson, 50, of 608 Fairway Ave. in Thomasville, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Thomasville Medical Center. Wilson of the home; daughters, Lakeshia Steele of Thomasville and Dominique Steele of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Quincy Steele of High Point, N.C.; stepdaughter, Jacquiese Joiner of Greensboro, N.C. and one stepson, Brandon Bridges of High Point, N.C.; brothers Charles Steele (Ruth), Thomas Steele (Mary), Odell P. Steele, Jr., and Tony Steele (Nadine) all of Thomasville, N.C.; and one sister, Dionne Steele-Palmer. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1 p.m. in First Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church 30 minutes before the funeral service and other times at the home. *** Bonnie Wright Mrs. Bonnie Faye Wright, 63, a resident of 2961 Lower Lake Road went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on Oct. 28, 1944 in Horry County, S.C. to Liston Wright and Flaudie Thompkins Wright. She was a supervisor with Ritch Face Veneer for the past 25 years and was a member of Community Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father. Surviving in addition to her mother of Lexington, are four daughters, Brenda Myers and her husband Dale of Conway, S.C., DeLinda Boles and her husband Max of Thomasville, Billie Singleton of Thomasville, and Cindy Walker and her husband Kenneth of Trinity; two brothers, Sammy Wright and Daylon Wright, both of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Shaun and Keith Brown, Jason and Jenny Boles, Scott Wagner, Haley Kanoy, and Sadie Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Roman Brown. A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Ty Thompson and the Rev. Jason Boles officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family was at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and at other times at the home of DeLinda, 2959 Lower Lake Road.
