THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Alma Potss Ingram Black, 85, formerly of Tabernacle Church Road, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Britthaven of Davidson.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1923, in Seneca, S.C. to Walekr Bailey Potts and Vivian Kirby Potts.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Dr. E. Keith Carroll and the Rev. Carroll Upton officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Associating, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215-3220.

Judy K. Clodfelter
THOMASVILLE —Judy K. Clodfelter, 58, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at her home.
She was born on March 29, 1950, in Guilford County to Carl and Mae Finney. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bobby Finney.
She was a previous employee of Wrenn Manufacturing. One of God’s angels on loan to her husband Austin; son, Jeff; and to her family.
Surviving are her husband, Austin Clodfelter, Jr. of the home; son, Jeff Clodfelter and wife, Leigh, of Greensboro; and step-son, Jerry Austin Clodfelter of Trinity; brothers, Wade Finney and Billy Finney of Lexington.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Family Funeral Care in Thomasville.

Charlie Dowell
WINSTON-SALEM ­ ­— Charlie Dowell, 69, of Valley Drive, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Dowell was born on April 11, 1939, in Wilkes County to Robert Lee Dowell and Artie Blackburn Dowell. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Centers of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
Arrangements are being conducted by Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.

Betty Fite
LEXINGTON — Betty Armstrong Fite, 87, of West Fourth Avenue, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Fite was born in New York, Genese County, on Sept. 1, 1920, to John Fenn Armstrong and Sarah Beatrice Smith Armstrong. She was a retired RN Supervisor with Lexington Memorial Hospital and a veteran having served with the U.S. Army, Army Nurse Corp., 19th General Hospital from 1942 to 1945, having discharged as First Lieutenant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow a Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

LEXINGTON — Thomas Cathell “Tom Helmstetler, 75, died Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Second Presbyterian Church.

Donald Kepley
LEXINGTON — James Donald “Don” Kepley, 68, of Arland Drive, died Sunday, June 22, 208, at Forsyth Regional Medical Center.
Don was born in Davidson County on Jan. 11, 1940, to William Robert Kepley and Mattie Hancock Kepley. He was a retired employee of Binnings Building Products after 30 plus years of service. He as a member of Second United Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Don Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial may be made to Second Reformed United Church of Christ, 330 North Church St., Lexington, N.C. 27292.

THOMASVILLE — Mr. Thomas Joseph McGehee, 70, died Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Community Baptist Church Cemetery.

Larry Surratt
DENTON ­ — Larry Wayne Surratt, 56, of Euris Surratt Road, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Stanly Regional Hospital.
Mr. Surratt was born on March 15, 1952, in Davidson County to Euris W. Surratt and Lola Mae Harrison Surratt. He worked for Schultz Hones as a tractor driver.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alleghany United Methodist Church with the Revs. Claudia Harrison and Tommy Tysinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.

Alvin Maurice Warwick Sr.
THOMASVILLE — Alvin Maurice Warwick Sr., 69, a resident of Hasty Hill Road, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Warwick was born on Jun e3, 1939, in Lumberton, a son of Neal Archie and Mamie Wilkins Warwick. He was employed for 39 and a half years with Thomas Built Buses, retiring on June 30, 2006. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Warwick was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Warwick; a son, Donald Warwick; and two grandchildren, Sommer Bree Warwick and Daniel Jacob Warwick.
On May 17, 1957, he was married to the former Elizabeth “Lib” Bullard, who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife are on daughter, Ann Mattox and husband, Phillip, of Thomasville; three sons, Alvin M. Warwick Jr. and wife, Cyndi, of High Point, Bill Warwick and wife, Pam, of Thomasville and Chris Boles of the home; five grandchildren, Brandy, Samantha, Adam and Bree Warwick, Elizabeth Mattox and his faithful canine friends “Buddy”, “Molly”, “Coconut” and “Bell.”
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Hollar officiating. Mr. Warwick will remain at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 East Lexington Avenue in High Point, where the family will received friends today from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
