LEXINGTON — Bryce Garnel Beck, 77, of Cunningham Brickyard Road, in Lexington, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. Beck was born May 9, 1930, in Davidson County, to James Erwin Beck and Amanda Sumner Beck. He was owner/operator of Bryce Beck’s Photography.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Hedrick Beck, of the home; son, Jeffrey Beck and wife, Tammy, of Linwood; daughters, Cindy Facemyer and husband, Randy, and Stephanie Owens and husband, Tim, all of Lexington; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brother, James Beck and wife, Marie, of Bailey; and sister, Nancy Boles and husband, Clarence, of Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Cotton Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edgar Armfield Jr. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Cotton Grove UMC Building Fund, 175 Jersey Church Road, Lexington, N.C. 27292.

James W. Dinwiddie Sr.
LINWOOD — James William “Bill” Dinwiddie Sr., 73, of South N.C. Hwy. 150, in Linwood, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at NE Medical Center in Concord, after a brief illness.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Hill Mausoleum with the Rev. Fred Archer officiating. Entombment will follow.

Pansy Honbaier
LEXINGTON — Pansy Lee Johnson Honbaier, 95, of Mountain Vista Health Park, in Denton, and formerly of Westgate Court, Lexington, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at the nursing facility after declining health.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the home of the granddaughter, 7720 N.C. Highway 8, Lexington.

Jewel Hunt
LEXINGTON — Jewel Dean Logan Owen Hunt, 78, of Floyd Church Road, Lexington, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1929, in Davidson County, she was a homemaker.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Floyd Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Dickens officiating. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Estelle Kirkman
Estelle Eleanor Dorsett Kirkman, 92, of Britthaven of Davidson, formerly of Virginia Street in Thomasville, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the nursing home. Born Oct. 31, 1915, in Davidson County, she retired from Carolina Underwear.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Tim Landreth officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Baptist Children’s Homes of N.C., P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, N.C. 27361.

Johnny O. Lewis
LEXINGTON — Johnny Odell Lewis, 84, of Archdale Drive in Lexington, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in the High Point Regional Hospital. Born Dec. 5, 1923, in Winnsboro, Fairfield County, S.C., he was retired from Community Cash Grocery and he served his country in the U.S. Army, a veteran of World War II.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Carl Lindquist, the Rev. Ronnie Gilmer and the Rev. Scott Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Archdale Drive. Bobby Sparks
Bobby Lee Sparks, 45, loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving mother, Ida Sparks, and wife, Diane, of the home, whose care and devotion during Bobby’s illness was a witness to all. He also leaves behind a son, Dakota of Lexington; step-daughters, Tracy (Jeff) Peele and Ashley Cockran; stepson, Aaron Boone; step-granddaughters, Heaven Poole and Cheyenne Delk; step-grandson, Skylar Boone; aunts, Betty Jean Lowhorne and Alice Ruth Quinn, both of South Carolina; many close friends and relatives and a very special friend, Kari Ann Burton.
Bobby lived by God’s word, especially Hebrews 13:2; “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” Bobby never met a stranger and was always willing to give an outstretched hand to anyone in need.
His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Burton Street Missionary Methodist Church, where he was a member, the Rev. Jeff Burton officiating. Inurnment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held at the Church, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Home of High Point for their wonderful care of Bobby.
