DENTON — Michael James Barefoot, 17, of Denton, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at his residence. Born Oct. 22, 1990, in Davidson County, he was the son of James Fletcher Barefoot and Tammy Goad Barefoot and he was a student.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve McLain and the Rev. Charlie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Briggs Funeral Home.

Smokey Carter
LINWOOD — Galen Dean “Smokey” Carter, 56, of Clark Road in Linwood, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, in Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Born July 4, 1951, in Surry County, he was a former saw operator.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Faith Chapel on Highway 8 with Bishop Ronnie Shaw and Evangelist Phillip Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurley Family Cemetery in Randolph County. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, 1797 E. Holly Grove Road, Lexington.

Charles Gregg
LEXINGTON — Charles Wayne Gregg, 66, of Hedrick Mill Road in Lexington, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at his home. Born June 24, 1941, in Davidson County, he was retired from Billings Freight Systems after 32 years of service.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter, Tina Jarvis, 1341 New Bowers Road, Lexington. Ruby Harvey
Ruby Crotts Harvey, 88, of Eastward Avenue in High Point, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at High Point Regional Health System. Born April 25, 1919, in Davidson County, she was a former employee of Dixie Plastics.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Chaplain Justin C. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

Judy Hunter
Judy Gail Hunter of Thomasville, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007. She was born April 12, 1956.

Charles “Bill” Jenkins
LEXINGTON — Charles Jefferson “Bill” Jenkins, 71, of Jenkins Road in Lexington, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Sept. 8, 1936, in Davidson County, he was a retired employee of Davidson EMC with 33 years of service and he served his country in the U.S. Army.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy B. Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military graveside rites. LEXINGTON — Martha Michael Lin, 88, of Welcome-Bethesda Road in Lexington, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born April 19, 1919, in Davidson County, she was a homemaker.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Dr. Alan Rice officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Delmar Little
LEXINGTON — Delmar Ray Little Sr., 69, of Brewer Road in Lexington died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, after a sudden illness. Born March 6, 1938, in Columbus County, he was owner and operator of Little Frame and Towing.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry King and the Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Brewer Road. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Glenn E. Rollins
Mr. Glenn Edward Rollins, age 86, of Thomasville, N.C., died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Britthaven of Davidson, where he had been a resident for one year. He was born on Jan. 21, 1921, a son of the late Goyen Doggett Rollins and Zennie Waters Rollins. Mr. Rollins owned and operated Rollins Metal Shop from 1948 until his retirement. He was a graduate of Rutherfordton Central High School and Milwaukee School of Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the European Theatre, and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Rollins was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and on various committees of the church. He was also a member of the Algood Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by one son, Kerry Martin Rollins in 1969.
On Feb. 7, 1942, he married the former Mazle Beam (Mem), of Spindale, N.C., who survives of the home. Also surviving are one daughter, Zennie Rollins Royals of Trinity; two grandchildren, Todd Royals and his wife Holly of Charlotte, and Dana Fitzgerald and her husband Christopher of Winston-Salem; three great-grandchildren, Caroline Victoria Royals, Anna Elizabeth Royals, and Sophia Katherine Royals, all of Charlotte; and one sister, Camilla Stidham of Eatonville, Wash.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home. Mr. Rollins will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 8 Cramer Street, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.
