LEXINGTON — Margaret Hannah Craven, 86, of West Second Avenue in Lexington, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Lindquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home on West Second Avenue.
Piedmont Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Karen Hedrick
Ms. Karen Anne Hedrick, 50, of Thomasville passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007. She was born Oct. 30, 1957, in High Point to Dewayne and Carolyn Henderson Hedrick. Ms. Hedrick was employed at Trimfit Incorporated in Thomasville.
Surviving are two sons, Chris Hedrick and wife, Rosa of Raleigh and Michael Hedrick and fiancée, Ashley of Asheboro; mother, Carolyn Darnell of High Point; brother, Paul Hedrick of High Point; grandchildren, Jessica, Elijah and Gage; and an aunt and uncle, Peggy and Roy Hauser of High Point.
The Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Interment will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Harold Leonard
Harold Franklin Leonard, 66, of Thomasville, died on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Liberty Wood Nursing Home. Born Feb. 7, 1941, in Davidson County, he retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries after 39 years of service.
Funeral service was held at Family Funeral Care of Thomasville on Friday at 8 p.m. with the Rev. David McLeese officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Thomas C. Lowery
Mr. Thomas Charles Lowery, 84, of 510 Tremont St. in Thomasville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in Thomasville Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Military burial honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, in Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Sandra Sasportas, 200 Winston St.

Betty Parrott
LEXINGTON — Betty McCrary Parrott, 81, of Duke Drive in Lexington, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1926, in Davidson County, she taught at Lexington Middle School for 33 years.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Grace Episcopal Church, 419 S. Main St. in Lexington with the Rev. Dr. Tom King officiating. A private burial will be held in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of Mac Parrott, 110 Acacia Circle. Memorials may be directed to Betty McCrary Parrott Scholarship Fund, c/o Davidson County Community College Foundation, P.O. Box 1287, Lexington, N.C. 27293 or Grace Episcopal Church, 419 S. Main St., Lexington, N.C. 27292.

Ronnie Pope
Mr. Ronnie Dale Pope, 64, a resident of Midway School Road in Thomasville, went to be with his Lord, Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2007. He was born Sept. 16, 1943, in Davidson County, a son of the late Claude Pope and Ida Belle Leonard Pope. He was a supervisor with Slane Hosiery of High Point. Mr. Pope was a member of Midway School Road Baptist Church, Sunday school teacher for the Young Adult Class, and was ordained into the ministry by the church on March 25, 1984.
On April 14, 1962 he was married to Sarah Shular, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Steve Byerly of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Cindy Pope of Thomasville; sisters, Mrs. Billie Wood and Mrs. Shirley Rampp and husband Ted, both of Thomasville; and four grandchildren, Megan Pope, Lindsey Pope, Heather Byerly and Whitney Byerly.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Midway School Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Pope will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home.

Ruby Reid
Ruby Genova Walters Reid 88, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Westchester Manor in High Point.
Ruby was born on June 17, 1919, in Stephen County, Georgia to Norman and Lucy Walters. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years, Horace William Reid.
Ruby was a graduate of Thomasville Main Street School in 1936. After graduation, attended Ashmore Business School, and went to work at Rose’s 5-10-25 Store and was cashier for nine years. She retired from Holton Furniture Company in Thomasville in 1979 after 30 years of service. On Dec. 3, 1955, she was married to Horace William Reid of Lexington, N.C. She was an active member of First Baptist Church as long as health permitted. She was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi in Thomasville and former member of MU Exemplar Chapter.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Janice Sell of Thomasville and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Family Funeral Care in Thomasville, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Memorials may be made to the boiler fund at First Baptist Church.

Mary Williams Younts
LEXINGTON — Mary Lee William Younts, 89, of Sunbridge of Lexington and formerly of West 7th Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at the nursing center after declining health. Born Aug. 23, 1918, in Gaston County, she was a homemaker.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service and other times at their respective homes.
Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
