Lee Roy Lomax Jr. DENTON — Lee Roy Lomax Jr., 45, of Chapel Hill Church Road South in Denton, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, following a sudden illness. Born April 4, 1962, in Davidson County, he was a self-employed carpenter. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Mary Wagner Mrs. Mary Gladden Wagner, 99, formerly of High Point, died Monday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2007, in the Britthaven of Davidson Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 18, 1908, in Cleveland County, N.C., a daughter of Bennett T. Gladden and Minnie Painter Gladden. She was a member of former Ward Street United Methodist Church, now Ward Street Mission of High Point. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Frank Gladden. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marie L. McAdams of Thomasville and a grandson, Bernis “Chan” McAdams, Jr. of Thomasville. Graveside service was held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Mausoleum in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby Beck, Dr. Abraham Kim and the Rev. Shirley Donnell officiating. Mrs. Wagner remained at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until the service hour. No formal visitation was held. The family request memorials be directed to Ward Street Mission, 1619 West Ward Avenue, High Point, N.C. 27260 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
