- Ruth Anderson
Ruth Morgan Anderson, 83, of 420 Frank Circle in Thomasville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Piedmont Crossing Nursing Center. Born Jan. 2, 1924 in Paterson, N.J., she was a retired teacher with over 30 years of service in public education as a chemistry teacher with Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Va.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Emanuel Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Rickey Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Memorials may be directed to Emanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, 1170 Emanuel Church Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.

Barbara Cardwell
Mrs. Barbara Cox Cardwell, 66, a resident of Old Greensboro Road, Thomasville died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Cardwell was born July 23, 1941, in Forsyth County, a daughter of Herman Russell and Lillie Belle Hill Cox and had been a resident of Davidson County most of her life. Barbara retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries where she worked at Plant A. She was a charter member of Hilltop Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.
Surviving is her husband Henry Aaron Cardwell of Beaufort, N.C; two sons: Henry Russell (Rusty) Cardwell and Michael Dwayne (Mike) Cardwell and his wife Mary, all of Thomasville; a daughter Penny C. Wilson of Thomasville; grandchildren: Brent Cardwell, Holly Cardwell, Casey Wilson, Stacy Wilson and Danielle Cardwell; brothers: Wade Russell Cox and his wife Bonnie and David Cox and his wife Carolyn, all of Thomasville; and sisters: Frances Tucker, Mae Vickers and her husband Robert, Judy Graham and her husband Jerry, all of Thomasville.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Hilltop Baptist Church with the Rev. W.A. “Junior” Seawell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Memorials may be made to Hilltop Baptist Church, 160 Gate Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.

Susan Hall
Susan Joyce Crafton Hall, 59, of Thomasville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Hilltop Baptist Church in Thomasville with the Rev. W.A. Seawell Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ruby Loman
LEXINGTON — Ruby Belle Stewart Loman, 79, of 1557 Smith Farm Road in Lexington, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Brookstone Assisted Living after four years of care. Born April 8, 1928, in Forsyth County, she was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries retiring in 1990.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Steve Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and other times at the home of the daughter, Helen Loftin, 102 Breckenridge, Thomasville. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, N.C. 27292.

Louise Love Sr.
LINWOOD — Sanford Louis Love Sr., 76, of Clyde Fitzgerald Road in Linwood, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Forsyth Medical Center. Born June 6, 1931, in Davidson County, he served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Clark Construction.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Open Door Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Gibson and the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home on Clyde Fitzgerald Road in Linwood.

Dorothy Matthews
Mrs. Dorothy Pauline Swaney Matthews, age 81, of 781 Ben Lee Road in Thomasville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Liberty Woods Nursing Center. She was born July 6, 1926, in Randolph County daughter of the late Birt Swaney and Lula Mae Younts Swainey. She was a retired employee of Kayby Mills Inc. and was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Church Choir. She was married Nov. 4, 1944, to Rufus Vernon Matthews who preceded her in death April 30, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters: Shelia Diane Matthews Maxwell and husband Michael and Helen Swaney Harris all of Thomasville; one son, Paul Matthews and wife Diane of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Donnie Swaney of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Heather LeAnn Adams and husband Chris of Lexington, Holly Rae Lackey and husband Ryan of Ramseur, Corby Vernon Matthews and Lisa Snyder and husband Michael, all of Thomasville; two step-grandsons, Michael Lomax and Joshua Lomax of Pinehurst, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Allie and Kenny Houston and Shane Snyder.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Blakley. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family received friends at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home, 781 Ben Lee Road. Memorials may be directed to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 712 Fisher Ferry St. Thomasville, N.C. 27360 or to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941 Lexington, N.C. 27292.

Heather Herring Tucker
LEXINGTON — Heather Herring Tucker, 34, of Eastwood Drive in Lexington, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 23, 1973, in Berlin, Vt., she was a certified nursing assistant at Alston Brook Nursing Home.
Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
