LEXINGTON — Margaret Darlene “Bug” Bowers, 47, of Foothill Drive in Lexington, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro after declining health of 18 months. Born Nov. 16, 1960, in Rowan County, she was employed with Davidson County School System. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug McGee and the Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Clara Butler Clara Bonnie Dewease Butler passed from this world to the next on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, joining her beloved husband, Sam Alman Butler, who passed away June 5, 1990. Sam and Clara married in 1931 in Meridian, Mississippi. Clara was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi, eldest daughter of Milton Irvin and Cora Elder Dewease, and was one of eleven brothers and sisters. Clara was the surviving member of her siblings. Clara and her family have lived in the High Point area since 1939. Clara celebrated 100 years of a beautiful, bountiful, God- loving life with nearly 100 family and friends at the Green Street Baptist Church, Friday, April 13, 2007, where she has been a member for 67 years. Clara leaves her devoted sons and their wives, Alman Irvin and Susan of Pawleys Island, S.C., James (Sonny) Wyatt and Betty of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Roger Neil and Judy of Thomasville, NC, grandchildren Alicia Carroll, Melissa Wright, Kelley Butler, Sallie Ledford, Leigh Kirk, Marc Butler, Karen Welborn, Amber Islam, and Neil Butler, great-grandchildren Chasity, Brittany, Nathan, Reid, Kendall, Samantha, Matthew, Michael, Samina, Raheem, Mauria, Maranda, Jessica, Erin, Taylor, Carolyn, Johnathon, Alicen, Carlie, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in the Chapel of Green Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
