Fourth suspect arrested in home invasion

Staff Writer Kevin Reid - A fourth arrest has been made in connection with the home invasion that took place on Fisher Ferry Road in December.
Everett Michael Byers, 27, of Winston-Salem, was arrested early Thursday morning at a Twin City motel.
“[Byers] had multiple addresses,” said Alan Pope of the Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. “We actually apprehended him at the Days Inn on Silas Creek Parkway.”
Byers is currently incarcerated at the Davidson County Detention Center and has been placed under a $1 million secured bond. He has been charged with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, six counts of first-degree kidnapping and conspiracy.
Last December, masked men forced their way into the Fisher Ferry Road home of Jason Lambeth. The masked men demanded money from the 24-year-old resident and beat him with a baseball bat before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash. Lambeth rode in an ambulance to Thomasville Medical Center. He was treated and released, but continues to receive treatment for his injuries, according to Pope, who is the lead detective on this case.
Three other Winston-Salem men have been arrested for the home invasion. Corey Javodd Simmons, Nicholas DaLan Alexander and Jerome David Poole are also currently incarcerated in the Davidson County Detention Center and each has been placed under $1 million secured bond. With the exception of conspiracy, each member of this trio has been charged with the same crimes as Byers.
“This case has been linked to quite a few other home invasions in the area,” Pope said. “This includes not just Thomasville, but also the Winston-Salem and High Point area. Other charges are pending against these four.”
