The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is still searching for a pregnant woman who was kidnapped by her estranged husband Tuesday.
Miranda Teague, who is eight-and-a-half months pregnant, was taken hostage by her husband Charles Teague, 32, after he broke into the residence at 7050 Sink Farm Road in Thomasville where she was staying and assaulted the home owners, Cecil and Wanda Myers, with a knife. The Myers received injuries to their hands, arms, face and neck. They were transported to High Point Regional Hospital, where they were treated and released. Both are said to be “doing well” and recovering from their injuries.
According to police reports, Charles Teague forced Miranda to leave the home in Wanda Myers’ vehicle, which is described as a red in color 2000 Dodge Neon. The vehicle’s North Carolina license plate number is RWD-6188.
Sgt. Derrick Hill of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said there were no new leads as of Wednesday, and the investigation is ongoing.
“We still believe they may be in Greensboro, High Point, Randolph County or surrounding areas,” Hill said. “He had a lot of friends and family in the Greensboro area.”
The department has also issued a missing persons report with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Persons.
Charles Teague, who is reported as a violent felon, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, first-degree burglary and kidnapping.
“We consider him to be armed and dangerous,” Hill continued. “Her due date is in two weeks, but she could give birth at any time.”
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Charles and Miranda Teague are urged to call 911, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 318-6699 or the Randolph County Crime Stoppers at (336) 672-7463.
